Get Microsoft Certifications for FREE!
No this isn’t a gimmick…Microsoft will let you sit for select certifications for $0.00!
I’ve been tinkering with Microsoft’s PowerBI for the past year, waiting for the opportunity to fully realize my app-development and process automation dreams once I can get my hands on a license. So when I got an email from Microsoft last week offering free live training, I jumped on the opportunity and shared the news with all of my colleagues right away! The deal got even sweeter when I realized Microsoft would allow me to sit for some certification exams totally free!
I quickly signed up for as many sessions as my schedule could fit (although it doesn’t appear Microsoft has any intention of changing this offer anytime soon). Sessions ranged from 1.5 hours to 4 hours, split over the course of two days. I finished my first course, “Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals” and seamlessly registered to sit for the certification exam two days later. In addition to taking the training, I utilized Microsoft self-paced courses, and relevant YouTube videos (the equivalent of watching other kids play with cool toys) to study. Two days after training, I’ve passed the Exam PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals exam and can proudly proclaim I’ve got my first Microsoft certification, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals. Here’s how you can too:
- Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/trainingdays to see a list of training events covering topics in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Power Platform
2. Select the “Register” link for any event that peaks your interest.
3. If the training event has an associated certification exam, following the event, Microsoft will send a voucher to the e-mail address used for registration. This voucher can be used to cover the cost of the exam (which typically are around $99 for the Fundamentals exams). For example, completion of the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals event will allow you to take the “Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification exam” at no cost.
